Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we will ever do.

Welcome. I’m Tara Haines (she/her/hers), licensed psychotherapist and owner of Lotus Blossom Counseling for Women. I understand the courage it takes to reach out for help when you realize you aren’t living the life you always thought you would. When you don’t recognize your own voice anymore and can’t begin to identify what you want and need. You want to feel fulfilled, peaceful and joyful but it just seems out of reach. It’s been so long since you were able to put yourself first, feel confident in who you are and speak your truth from your heart. Maybe you feel like you’ve never really been able to do that or don’t deserve to.

We can get so caught up in our many roles as women, that we no longer feel connected to our mind, body and spirit. You may be carrying around past hurts and traumas, while feeling you may never heal or move forward. All of this can keep you disconnected from your present and feeling uncertain about the future.

Your voice, your story and your healing matter. Your inner wisdom can guide you to greater meaning, peace and balance.

Together, we can explore what’s working and what’s not, get to the root of your feelings and quiet everything else so you can reconnect to yourself and hear your voice.

All women have a story that deserves to be told, an inner wisdom that is there to guide you. I believe all women have the right to live full, bold, authentic, lives, speaking your truth and being grounded in the knowledge that you are ALWAYS ENOUGH. I also know it takes courage and work to heal past pain, cope with challenges in your life today and become more connected to your inner self.

I want to partner with you to reconnect with the parts of yourself that have gotten lost along the way and create meaningful, lasting change.

A little more about me and my therapeutic style. I take an active role in our work together. Real change takes being real, talking about the hard stuff and being willing to be vulnerable. I “show up” in our work together because I ask the same of you. I am not the therapist who listens, while nodding, providing little feedback. I am supportive, compassionate and affirming, offering tools, suggestions and guidance to bring about change. I also believe a sense of humor is key, especially when we are looking at ourselves. So, when we can, we’ll laugh often and freely.

Most importantly, I believe women matter. Our stories matter. Our healing matters. Our wholeness matters. And, we have the right to be supported, believed and valued. I started Lotus Blossom Counseling for Women because I want to be part of helping other women live fully connected to mind, body and spirit

Now, the more formal education/background stuff. I am a licensed independent clinical social worker in the state of Massachusetts. I graduated from Springfield College School of Social Work in 2010 with my Masters in Social Work. Prior to attending graduate school, I worked in the anti-sexual violence movement for nine years which ignited my passion for working with and for women. Once I completed my degree, I worked as a clinician in hospice, palliative care and oncology as well as community mental health and geriatric mental health.
